In Bangladesh, where socio-political dynamics continue to evolve, the protection and promotion of freedom of expression remain not only essential but urgent.

Pauper’s  LegalAid Foundation firmly believes that the right to express oneself freely without fear of censorship, intimidation, or retaliation is a basic human right. This right is intrinsically linked with dignity, justice, accountability, and the rule of law. When freedom of expression is restricted, it undermines transparency, weakens democratic institutions, and silences the voices of the marginalized.

Historically, Bangladesh has witnessed periods where freedom of expression faced significant challenges. Unfortunately, concerns still persist today regarding limitations on media independence, digital expression, and public dissent. In such a context, safeguarding this right becomes a collective responsibility.
